OUR STORY

MERAKI (from Greek, may-rah-kee)

“To do something with soul, creativity or love; to put something of yourself in your work.”

OUR STORY

Where Meraki comes from

Meraki is a dream come true: combining the passion for baking with the curiosity of travelling. I’ve grown up surrounded by good food, baking and cooking since I was a child, but I studied tourism and languages as I wanted to travel, and my first internship abroad was in Menorca, 13 years ago. In the meantime I worked and lived in Gran Canaria, New Orleans, London and Leeds, and I travelled a lot discovering recipes and ingredients.

2020 gave me the great opportunity to change my life: I started a plant-based diet, mainly for health reasons, but also for the environment and animals, and I spent 6 months working at a pastry shop in Berlin thanks to an Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.

Cooking is sharing love and through Meraki I want more people to be able to enjoy pastries, travelling in each bite. For this reason at the coffee shop you will find pastries I have discovered around the world, almost everything is vegan and there are also gluten-free options.

Today, where would you like to travel to?

Our Philosophy

All our cakes and pastries are homemade with care and baked right here at the coffee shop.

We choose not to use colourants, artificial aromas and use organic and regional ingredients where possible. This will reduce our impact on the environment and will help our health too. We prefer to reduce sugar and offer gluten-free and vegan options so everyone can enjoy our baking.
